JAMES A. LAGARDE, SR.

 May 5, 1947 - February 11, 2012

James A. Lagarde, Sr., 64, of Goshen passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012

surrounded by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and loving friends after a

courageous battle with cancer.

James was born May 5, 1947 in New York, NY, the son of Hector and Anna (Buvalik)

Lagarde.

Jim was a Corrections Officer for NYS Dept. Of Corrections for 32 years, also worked

27 years for the department of Mental Health and was a volunteer Com-peer through

Mental Health NCAA swimming official; and ASA Umpire; a Eucharist Minister at St.

John the Evangelist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carole A. Lagarde at home; children: Tara Aiken (Michael)

of Charlotte, NC, James Lagarde, Jr. (Tara) of Monroe, NY, Renee Lagarde (Michael)

of Goshen, Christopher Lagarde (Shana) of Goshen; brother, Edward Lagarde (Evelyn)

of Liberty, NY; nine grandchildren: Chelsea, Rylea, MacKenzea all of Charlotte; Colin,

Trevor, Madison all of Monroe; Katelynn, Ryan, Andrew of Goshen; and several nieces

and nephews.

Family statement reads: "Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to

many and will be missed by all."
